All You Need To Know About Avoriaz Apres Ski

Avoriaz is a family-friendly ski resort, which also caters for family and friend groups who want a good choice of places to enjoy apres-ski afternoons, and evenings of good food, wine, and cocktails.

With over 40 bars and restaurants to choose from, visitors can expect an upbeat ambience day and night, without being wild and crazy. Avoriaz delivers on fun, without going OTT.

The beautiful floodlit cliff set behind the resort, lends the resort a charismatic aura at night. And as Avoriaz is a ski-in/ski-out resort, which is completely pedestrianised you can easily and safely walk from restaurant to bar, or ski-in for apres-ski on one of the resort’s sunny terraces.

Best apres ski bars in Avoriaz

For many, apres-ski (post-ski) is one of the best things about their ski holidays. Getting together after a day on the piste to enjoy an ice cold beer on a sunny terrace and watch the world ski by. In Avoriaz, the finale to a day on the slopes is to ski directly to one of the resort bars. 

Most bars have happy hours during the afternoon and early evening, so your apres-ski could go stretch out from 3pm to 9pm. 

Then ski back home to get changed for dinner!

Chez l’Envers Brasserie

Chez l’Envers Brasserie located on the Avoriaz plateau with its huge terrace is hard to miss as you ski down back to the resort.
It’s a no-brainer to stop off for your first apres-ski drink on the sunny terrace, or meet up with the family after ski lessons. Grab a deckchair, and a cold beer, and take in the gorgeous scenery.

The alpine restaurant offers typical French dishes, combined with snacks and kid-friendly meals. As with many Avoriaz establishments, live music can also be enjoyed at Chez l’Envers.

Chez Flo and Les Trappeurs

Ski down to the Prodains bubble, and you’ll find Chez Flo and Les Trappeurs. Both bars open out to lovely terraces adorned with deck chairs and pop-up bars. Enjoy a lazy afternoon sipping on a delicious Aperol Spritz, and listening to live music.

The Igloo Bar


The Igloo Bar is located at the base of the Arrare run is slightly off the beaten track. Perfect if you fancy a low-key apres ski experience. The bar is adorned with beautiful ice carvings, and hots up in the evening, offering late night parties and DJ nights during the season.

La Caverne (Morzine)

If you fancy getting away from Avoriaz for some apres-ski. Ski down to La Caverne in Morzine. The bar puts on live music and djs for a buzzy crowd. You can catch the last bus back to Avoriaz at 7.45pm, or the gondola at 8pm.

Best bars for evening fun in Avoriaz

Le Bistro or Cafe Le Fantastique

Kick off your evening at Le Bistro or Cafe Le Fantastique (open daily from 8am-2am). Both are well known for serving great cocktails.

Cafe Le Fantastique also serves tapas dishes and offers live sports on the big screen. Le Bistro offers live music and dj evenings from 3pm daily, and has a large terrace for apres-ski cocktails.

Le Chapka

Le Chapka in the Falaise area has a nice laid-back atmosphere and comfy modern interior. Le Chapka serves food in a laid-back set a laid-back feel, and contemporary interior.

Serves food, and live music on some evenings, but a good place to enjoy the company of friends and family. Watch sports on the screen, or play pool or darts.

The Bowling Bar

Le Bowling Bar (15:00-02:00) is a great place for those who want a bit more action after a day on the piste.

The bar features bowling alleys and pool tables, and drinks and snacks are served to keep you going.

Jaja Bar

If wine is your drink, the Jaja Bar is the place to go. There is an extensive wine list, and the staff are very knowledgeable. To accompany the wine, local cured meats and smoked fish can be ordered. Jaja Bar is situated close to Le Bowling Bar and Les Dromonts Hotel.
