Skiing is just the tip of the iceberg –  there are a myriad of alternative outdoor adventures to enjoy by day and night. Avoriaz caters for all ages, so for your full winter holiday experience come and try your hand at one of these other exciting activities!

Mountain walks are a fantastic way to experience the splendour of the Alps, which are at their most magical during winter and are a great activity for non-skiers. They offer the opportunity to closely encounter the local flora and fauna and you will likely discover animal tracks left in the snow while enjoying the 360 degree panoramas. Avoriaz offers lots of options for hiking around the slopes, so it is very easy for skiers and hikers to rendezvous on the slopes for lunch.

For a different slope experience why not try snowshoeing? An easy activity allowing you to traverse the deeper snow on foot. Great for non-skiers. Snowshoes can be rented from the ski hire shops for exploring by yourself or you can joint a group with a guide at the ESF and the equipment is provided. Snowshoeing hiking routes are open to all, adults and children of all levels.

If you would like to soar over the Alps like the Choucas, why not try parapenting, a tandem parachute flight with a qualified pilot, launching by running off the side of the mountain, catching the thermal and soaring up into the air. Offering unparalleled aerial views and excitement, parapenting is yet another adventure experience on offer and easily accessible in Avoriaz.
